| Title: ●Drug Abuse Treatment Program | |
|
Abstract:
In this document, the Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) proposes revisions to its regulations on the Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP) to reflect changes in the program which would benefit inmates and allow for greater inmate participation in the program. We propose to remove the requirement for RDAP written testing, as it is more appropriate to assess an inmate's progress through clinical evaluation. We also propose to remove language which would automatically expel inmates who have committed certain prohibited acts. In addition, the Bureau proposes to limit the time frame for which we will review prior offenses for early release eligibility purposes to 10 years prior to the date of imposition of the Federal sentence. Finally, we propose to alter the regulation to narrow language relating to early release eligibility. |
