| Title: Model Notice of Critical Status for Multiemployer Plans | |
| Abstract: The Pension Protection Act of 2006, Public Law 109-280 (PPA), signed into law August 17, 2006, required the Secretary of the Department of Labor to prescribe a model notice that multiemployer plans in critical status may use of satisfy their obligation to notify effected parties. The Secretary of Labor's obligation to prescribe a model was transferred to the Secretary of Treasury pursuant to the Worker, Retiree, and Employer Recovery Act of 2008, Pub. L. 110-458 (WRERA), signed into law December 23, 2008. Accordingly, the Department is withdrawing this initiative from the Semiannual Regulatory Agenda. | |
