Title: National Security Information Regulations
Abstract: The Department of State is revising its regulations governing the classification of national security information that is under the control of the Department in order to reflect the provisions of a new executive order on national security information, Executive Order 13526 and its implementing directive found at 32 CFR 2001. The Department is also making changes in the Department's procedures, since the last revision of the Department's regulations was in June 2007 (72 FR 30972). These changes include some changes in the classification categories, in the rules governing the sharing of other-agency classified information, and in granting access to certain former government personnel.
