Title: ●Visas: Procedures for Issuing Visas  
Abstract:

This rule is being promulgated to update the Department’s regulations regarding nonimmigrant visa format and record retention procedures, as technology changes and the Department evolves its machine-readable visa format and issuance procedures. This change is also being promulgated to remove an obsolete record retention provision and to remove visa review provisions, both of which are now addressed in the Foreign Affairs Manual.
