TREAS/TTB RIN: 1513-AC95 Publication ID: Spring 2025
Title: Ingredient Labeling of Distilled Spirits, Wines, and Malt Beverages
Abstract:

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) requests public comment on possible changes to its alcohol beverage regulations related to ingredient labeling. TTB had previously received a petition for such rulemaking, as well as comments, in response to a different rulemaking, which indicated that consumers are interested in ingredient labeling and that a number of industry members are voluntarily disclosing ingredients. During February 2024, TTB engaged with the public by holding two listening sessions and opening a public docket for written input on labeling of alcohol beverages to disclose per-serving alcohol and nutritional information, major food allergens, and/or ingredients. Consumers, public health stakeholders, alcohol industry trade groups, and industry members of all sizes participated, and this input informed the development of an advance notice of proposed rulemaking.
