| Title: ●Verification of Status for Public Benefit Eligibility | |
|
Abstract:
Pursuant to Executive Order 14218, Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders, DHS is issuing regulations to codify a legal framework which will facilitate robust compliance with immigration status verification requirements under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA). The regulation is intended to ensure that Federal public benefits are distributed only to qualified aliens and U.S. citizens, as required by PRWORA, therefore conserving and protecting taxpayer resources. |
