| Title: ●Digital Certificate of Number for State Numbered Vessels | |
|
Abstract:
The Coast Guard is amending 33 CFR 174.25 to align with the NDAA 2023 by removing from the CFR the specific dimensions of a hard copy of a Certificate of Number (CON) and adding that a CON can be in a hard copy or a digital form. This revision will allow a CON to be carried in a digital format while maintaining the requirement that a hard copy shall be pocket-sized. The Coast Guard is also amending 33 CFR 173.21 to add an exception from the carriage of a CON on vessels powered by a 9.8 horsepower, or smaller, engine. |
