| Title: Digital Certificate of Number for State Numbered Vessels | |
|
Abstract:
On June 4, 2024, the Coast Guard issued a final rule that amends 33 CFR 174.25 to align it with the NDAA 2023. The rule does so by removing from the CFR the specific dimensions of a hard copy of a Certificate of Number (CON) and adding that a CON can be in a hard copy or a digital form. Effective July 5. 2024, this revision will allow a CON to be carried in a digital format while maintaining the requirement that a hard copy must be pocket-sized. |
