DHS/TSA RIN: 1652-AA62 Publication ID: Fall 2010
Title: Revision of Enforcement Procedures
Abstract: On July 21, 2009, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) published a final rule (74 FR 36030) amending its Investigative and Enforcement Procedures to conform to the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 (Pub. L. 110-53, 121 Stat. 266, 390, Aug. 3, 2007). The rule established procedures by which TSA may issue civil monetary penalties for violations of any statutory requirement administered by TSA, including surface transportation requirements and Transportation Worker Identification Credentials requirements. The rule also adjusted maximum civil penalties in accordance with Federal Civil Penalty Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990 (Pub. L. 101-410, 28 U.S.C. 2461 note) and clarified and reorganized TSA's investigative and enforcement procedures. TSA will issue a final rule responding to public comments.
