Abstract:

This rule will conform TSA’s regulations to the changes made by Public Law  113-294, which took effect on December 19, 2014, and imposed a round-trip limitation on the security service fee authorized under 49 U.S.C. 44940. The rule would also codify definitions necessary to implement the round-trip limitation imposed by that law.

Public Law 113-294 imposed a round-trip limitation on the security service fee authorized under 49 U.S.C. 44940 and implemented in 49 CFR part 1510. The amendment took effect on December 19, 2014 (the date of enactment, per the applicability provision of the statute). This rule conforms TSA’s regulations to the amendments made to 49 U.S.C. 44940.
