| Title: Removing Suspension of Enrollment for Certain F, J and M Nonimmigrant Students From Libya and Third Country Nationals Acting on Behalf of Libyan Entities | |
|
Abstract:
This rule is removing the regulatory provisions 8 CFR 214.5 promulgated in 1983 that terminated nonimmigrant status and barred the granting of certain immigration benefits or status to Libyan nationals and foreign nationals acting on behalf of Libyan entities engaging in or seeking to obtain studies or training in aviation maintenance, flight operations, or nuclear-related fields. There is no longer a reason to have a country-specific prohibition on prospective nonimmigrants from Libya as such individuals can now be vetted as are all other prospective nonimmigrants from any country. |
