Title: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged, Subpart C--Migrant Education Programs
Abstract: These regulations would contain requirements for the Migrant Student Information Exchange, a congressionally mandated, electronic, national exchange mechanism for records of migrant students, and would establish requirements for a State educational agency's receipt of Migrant Education Program funds. The mechanism allows school staffs in different States to electronically exchange basic health and educational information to facilitate, for migrant children, timely school enrollment, placement, and accrual of secondary course credits.
