| Title: School Improvement Grants--Requirements Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009; Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 | |
| Abstract: The Secretary intends to issue final requirements for School Improvement Grants authorized under section 1003(g) of title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended (ESEA), and funded through the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010. These final requirements respond to comments on interim final requirements for this program that the Secretary published on January 21, 2010. The final requirements incorporate new authority included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 that expanded the group of schools eligible to receive School Improvement Grants funds and raised the maximum amount of funds that a State educational agency may award to a local educational agency for each participating school. | |
