| Title: Demonstration Projects for the Integration of Vocational and Academic Learning Program | |

Abstract:
The Demonstration Projects for the Integration of Vocational and Academic Learning Program provided financial assistance to projects that developed, implemented, and operated programs using different models of curricula that integrated vocational and academic learning. The program was authorized under the authority of Sec. 2420 of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Act of 1990 and its regulations were published in the Federal Register, Aug. 14, 1992 (57 FR 36803). The Department will rescind its regulations at 34 CFR 425.1 -- 425.5 (subpart A); 34 CFR 425.20 -- 34 CFR 425.22 (subpart C); and 34 CFR 425.30 (subpart D) relating to the program. These actions are necessary because these program regulations are outdated and are not authorized under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. Subpart B of 34 CFR 425 is currently reserved. The Department will also reserve subparts A, C and D of 34 CFR 425. |
