| Title: Energy Efficiency Standards for Battery Chargers | |
|
Abstract:
EPCA, as amended by EISA 2007, requires the Secretary to determine whether setting energy conservation standards for battery chargers is technically feasible and economically justified. Proposed energy conservation standards for battery chargers were published in the same document as proposed energy conservation standards for external power supplies, but recent changes introduced by the state of California prompted a further review regarding the costs and benefits of setting standards for battery chargers. (DOE previously finalized standards for external power supplies in 2014. See 79 FR 7846 (February 10, 2014). This rulemaking will complete the combined battery chargers and external power supplies rulemaking that was first proposed in March 2012. See 77 FR 18478 (March 27, 2012). |
