| Title: Test Procedure for Ceiling Fan Light Kits | |
|
Abstract:
The Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, requires the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to amend test procedures with respect to ceiling fan light kits at least once every 7 years, if it determines that amended test procedures would more accurately produce test results which measure energy efficiency, or make a determination not to amend test procedures. On March 10, 2022, DOE issued a notice of proposed rulemaking, where it proposed to amend the test procedure for ceiling fan light kits by updating refences to industry standards, incorporating industry standards necessary for executing the test, allowing the use of a goniophotometer, revising definitions regarding CFLKs with solid-state lighting light source to clarify the scope and test method for CFLKs, and removing obsolete provisions. |
