| Title: Petroleum-Equivalent Fuel Economy Calculation | |
|
Abstract:
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has published a final rule revising the value for the petroleum equivalency factor at 10 CFR part 474. In the final rule, DOE revises its procedures for calculating a value for the petroleum-equivalent fuel economy of electric vehicles, which is used by the Environmental Protection Agency in calculating light-duty vehicle manufacturers’ compliance with the Department of Transportation’s Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards. This rulemaking was initiated in response to a petition for rulemaking submitted by the Natural Resources Defense Council and Sierra Club. |
