Abstract:
Consistent with the requirements under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has initiated a rulemaking to examine whether to amend the current energy conservation standards for general service fluorescent lamps found at 10 CFR 430.32(n). As a result of this effort, DOE may propose and adopt more stringent standards or issue a determination that no amendments to the current standards are required. Any rulemaking action will be consistent with the President's direction in Executive Order 14154, Unleashing American Energy, to preserve consumer choice as well as DOE's statutory obligation to preserve appliance features in the market.
