Title: NPDES Permit Requirements for Municipal Sanitary Systems, Municipal Satellite Collection Systems, Sanitary Sewer Overflows, and Peak Excess Flow Treatment Facilities
Abstract: EPA will develop a notice of proposed rulemaking outlining a broad-based regulatory framework for sanitary sewer collection systems under the NPDES program. The Agency is considering proposing standard permit conditions for inclusion in permits for publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) and municipal sanitary sewer collection systems that would better articulate monitoring, reporting, and discharge obligations to provide better protection at reduced costs. EPA is holding a meeting with key stakeholders in July 2011 to discuss these issues. EPA will develop a specific plan and schedule after the meeting has been held.
