| Title: Mercury Criterion to Protect Aquatic Life in Idaho | |

Abstract:
On April 9, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency published in the Federal Register a proposed Federal Clean Water Act aquatic life criterion for mercury applicable to waters under the State of Idaho’s jurisdiction. The public comment period for the proposed rule closes on June 10, 2024, after which the EPA will consider all comments received and complete the process of determining whether Endangered Species Act consultation on the proposed criterion is required. The EPA’s proposed water quality standards take into account the best available science, including local and regional information. |
