| Title: Waste Energy Recovery Registry | |
| Abstract: Title IV of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 directs EPA to establish a "recoverable waste energy inventory program" in cooperation with the Department of Energy and state energy offices. This inventory program is composed of a Survey of major industrial and large commercial combustion sources, and a Registry of Recoverable Waste Energy Sources. On July 23, 2009, EPA issued a proposed rule that included the criteria for including sources or sites in a Registry of Recoverable Waste Energy Sources, and the Survey processes by which EPA will collect data and populate the Registry. Under this action, EPA will publish a rule establishing criteria for including sites in the Registry of Recoverable Waste Energy Sources. | |
