| Title: ●Organization and Delegation of Powers and Duties | |
|
Abstract:
This rulemaking would update the regulations that govern the organization of the Department of Transportation and delegate authority from the Secretary to departmental officers including the Deputy Secretary, the Under Secretary, the General Counsel, the Assistant Secretaries, the Inspector General, and the heads of the Department's Operating Administrations. This amendment responds to the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (Pub. L. 112-141, 126 Stat. 405) and the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2014 (Pub. L. 113-76 div. L, 128 Stat. 573), removes some delegations of authority that were unnecessary or inaccurate, and revises some delegations of authority to improve the description of current Department practice. |
