| Title: ●Prohibition of Remote Dispatch | |
|
Abstract:
This rulemaking would set forth the requirements for dispatch centers and flight following centers, including proposed emergency dispatch centers and emergency flight following centers, for certificate holders that operate under 14 CFR part 121. It would further prohibit the dispatching or releasing of aircraft from any location other than an approved dispatch or flight following center. Certificate holders would be required to obtain Administrator approval for the use of an emergency dispatch or flight following centers prior to use, and the use of an emergency dispatch or flight following center for a period exceeding 14 days would be prohibited. The FAA is also proposing to require operators to include information regarding dispatch or flight following centers in their operator’s operations specifications, and to set forth the requirement that dispatchers be certificated by the administrator, and to provide that certificate upon request. These updates address Congressional requirements set forth in section 420, Prohibition of Remote Dispatching, of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. |
