| Title: ●Removal of the Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Safety Inspector Observation of Pilot-in-Command Requirement | |
|
Abstract:
FAA proposes to eliminate the requirement that an FAA aviation safety inspector or, by exemption, an aircrew program designee or check pilot, observe a new pilot-in-command before the pilot can serve unsupervised in certain air carrier operations if they are completing an initial or upgrade training curriculum. With increased pilot experience and training requirements over the last several decades, advancements in flight simulation training device fidelity, and improved data collecting and analysis methods for training data, FAA finds the requirement is no longer necessary and places an undue burden on both FAA and air carriers. |
