| Title: ●Fees for Use of the Commercial Driver's License Information System (CDLIS) | |
|
Abstract:
This rulemaking would implement the provisions of the Strengthening the Commercial Driver’s License Information System Act” (49 USC 31309) passed in December 2024, modifying the fee system requirements to specify that the Department or an authorized operator: (1) may collect user fees for CDLIS; and (2) use the collected user fees to operate, maintain, develop, modernize, or enhance the CDLIS, including for related personnel and administration costs. This rulemaking would implement a user-fee based approach, allowing the CDLIS to operate as a self-sufficient system. |
