| Title: ●Federal Motor Vehicle Standard No. 121, Air Brake Systems | |
| Abstract: This rulemaking would amend Federal Motor Vehicle Standard No. 121; Air Brake Systems, to extend by two years the requirement for trailers equipped with ABS to have an external malfunction indicator lamp. The agency is currently evaluating the merits of a petition that requests that the agency extend the requirement indefinitely. The two year extension will allow NHTSA additional time to fully investigate the merits of the petition without allowing a gap in the requirements should the agency ultimately decide to grant (or partially grant) the petitioners request. | |
