| Title: Upgrade of School Bus Passenger Protection Reconsideration | |
| Abstract: This rulemaking would respond to petitions for reconsideration of the October 21, 2007, final rule to improve passenger protection on school buses. The final rule made changes to several Federal motor vehicle safety standards, including increasing the seat back height to reduce the potential for passenger override in the event of a crash; requiring small school buses to have lap/shoulder belt restraints; assuring proper lap/shoulder belt fit for all school bus passenger sizes; and standardizing test procedures for seat belts. | |
