Title: New Make-Inoperative Exemptions for Roof Crush and Rear Visibility 
Abstract:

This rulemaking would amend 49 CFR part 595, subpart C, "Make Inoperative Exemptions, Vehicle Modifications to Accommodate People With Disabilities," to include a new exemption relating to the Federal motor vehicle safety standards for roof crush resistance and rear visibility. The exemption facilitates accessibility for drivers and passengers with mobility disabilities. This document responds to petitions from Autoregs Consulting, Inc. on behalf of The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association, and from Bruno Independent Living Aids.
