| Title: Assessment of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Tires | |
|
Abstract:
In December 2019, NHTSA sought public comment on several safety standards for passenger vehicle tires to account for new vehicle designs. This rulemaking would seek to modernize existing tire requirements and test procedures to allow for alternatives to existing testing protocols including the tire strength test (plunger energy), the bead unseated resistance test, the tire endurance test, and other tire-related topics. |
