| Title: ●Response to Petitions for Reconsideration, Child Restraint Anchorage Systems | |
|
Abstract:
This rulemaking would respond to petitions for reconsideration of the January 7, 2025, final rule amending Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 225 that fulfills a mandate of the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP21) requiring that NHTSA improve the ease-of-use for lower anchorages and tethers in all rear seat positions. NHTSA received petitions for reconsideration from the Alliance for Automotive Innovation and Mercedez-Benz USA, LLC to extend the compliance date for certain vehicles and for a longer phase-in period. |
