Title: Railroad Bridge Safety Standards 
Abstract: This rulemaking would prescribe minimum requirements for persons responsible for railroad bridges to implement safety assurance programs to protect safe operations of trains over bridges. It would also prescribe minimum standards to be incorporated in the safety assurance programs to: (1) designate individuals who perform safety-critical functions; (2) determine safe capacity of bridges; (3) provide for an effective program of bridge inspections; (4) provide for adequate design and effective supervision of bridge modification and repair; and (5) audit and provide necessary documentation and records.
