Title: ●Signal Employee Certification 
Abstract:

This rulemaking is proposing to amend 49 CFR Part 246 to extend certain compliance dates in the rule in response to petitions for reconsideration submitted by various organizationsSpecifically, this rulemaking proposes to extend the deadline for railroads to submit their certification programs to FRA by one yearIt also proposes to extend, by one year, the date by which all railroads must designate in writing all individuals they have authorized to perform the duties of a certified signal employee and issue certificates to such individualsIn addition, the rulemaking would seek commentfrom the public on the issues raised in the petitions for reconsiderationThese comments will help FRA decide whether it should make further changes to the rule.
