HUD/FHEO RIN: 2529-AB13 Publication ID: 2026
Title: ●Rescinding the Fair Housing Poster Requirements (FR-6569)
Abstract:

HUD’s Fair Housing Poster requirements are not expressly required by statute. These requirements are no longer effective based on current commercial practices, which includes transactions that are conducted electronically. HUD spends taxpayer money each year on public outreach and education. These activities, supported by congressional appropriations, are more effective and can be targeted to specific audiences/populations. There is no longer any reason to continue imposing this 50-year-old requirement on housing providers and other market participants. This direct final rule rescinds these outdated requirements.
