| Title: Release of Restricted Information | |
| Abstract: The NFS currently includes contract clauses that provide the legal authority for NASA personnel to release restricted information to contractors for performance of a NASA contract and that address the protection and handling of such information provided to contractors. However, the existing clauses have caused confusion both within NASA and within the contractor community. This rule clarifies the definition of "restricted information," clarifies the applicability of the clauses, clarifies the relationship of the NFS clause to other FAR data rights clauses, and moves the coverage from the NFS section addressing service contracts to the more appropriate section addressing data rights applicable to all contracts. | |
