Title: NASA FAR Supplement, Revision to Protection of Florida Manatee Clause 
Abstract: This rule revises the NASA FAR Supplement to update the clause at 1852.247-71, Protection of the Florida Manatee. This rule is issued pursuant to the authority of 42 U.S.C. 2455(a) and 2473(c)(1). It implements the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (Pub. L. 93-205), as amended, and the Marine Mammals Protection Act of 1972 (Pub. L. 92-522), as amended. These laws designate the Indian River Lagoon System, which is within and adjacent to NASA's Kennedy Space Center as a critical habitat for the Florida Manatee. These laws establish requirements for operations in the Indian River Lagoon System and the NASA FAR Supplement clause ensures that NASA contractors obtain the necessary permits and follow the safety requirements set forth in the public laws.
