Title: Aeronautics and Space--Statement of Organization and General Information
Abstract: This direct final rule amends 14 CFR 1201 to make no substantive changes that provide current information on NASA's organizations. Part 1201 describes the authority for the creation of the NASA, as well as the purpose, functions, administration, and organizational structure of the Agency. The organizational information outlines in more detail the basic structure and responsibilities of the Mission Directorates located at NASA Headquarters and the NASA Centers located throughout the United States. Part 1201 also provides information on the Agency-level councils, committees, boards, and panels established to govern and support decision-making. General information about doing work with NASA is included. The revisions to this rule are part of NASA's retrospective plan under Executive Order 13563, completed in August 2011. NASA's full plan can be accessed at: http://www.nasa.gov/open.
