| Title: ●Secondary Service Connection for Diagnosable Illnesses Associated With Traumatic Brain Injury | |
| Abstract: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is amending its adjudication regulations concerning diagnosable illnesses which are secondary to service-connected traumatic brain injury (TBI). This amendment is necessary to act upon a report of the National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine, Gulf War and Health, Volume 7: Long-Term Consequences of Traumatic Brain Injury, regarding the association between TBI and five diagnosable illnesses. The intended effect of this amendment is to establish that if service connection is established for TBI, these conditions, if diagnosed, shall be considered to be the proximate result of the service-connected TBI. | |
