| Title: Adaptive Equipment Allowance | |
|
Abstract:
This rule amends the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) regulations governing the provision of a monetary allowance to certain veterans and members of the Armed Forces who require automobile adaptive equipment. The automobile adaptive equipment allowance provides funds for a range of adaptive equipment that helps veterans enter, exit, and/or operate their vehicle, such as wheelchair lifts, kneeling systems, raised doors and floors, hand controls, and digital driving systems. This final rule would establish in regulation a methodology to calculate the amount of the monetary allowance for automobile adaptive equipment, based on industry standards and our experience administering this program. |
