| Title: ●Expanding Beneficiary Travel for Transplant Recipients and Other Conforming Changes | |
|
Abstract:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to revise its beneficiary travel regulations. These revisions will expand eligibility for beneficiary travel for veteran transplant recipients who are referred to a VA or VA-authorized Transplant Center; extend from 30 to 180 days the deadline to submit a claim; prohibit balance billing against veterans in cases where VA pays for special modes of transportation; and otherwise conform the regulations to current statutory authorities. These changes will financially support veterans who need transplants. |
