| Title: ●Recovery or Collection of Reasonable Charges from Third-Party Payers | |
|
Abstract:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposed to amend existing collection rules to clarify that any claim filing deadline of a third party does not prohibit payment to VA, and that the third party's obligation to pay VA is not dependent on any action taken by the veteran to assign benefits to VA or action taken by VA to provide coordination of benefits information. This will ensure VA can more effectively collect reasonable charges from third-parties for the provision of non-service-connected care. |
