| Title: ●Third Party Accreditation for Testing of Youth All Terrain Vehicles | |
| Abstract: Section 102 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110-314, 122 Stat. 3016 (August 14, 2008), mandates that third party testing be conducted for certain childrens products. Section 102 also directs the Commission to publish a notice of requirements for accreditation of third party conformity assessment bodies (laboratories) to assess conformity with such childrens product safety rules. The Commission initiated a rulemaking to establish the requirements that third party conformity assessment bodies must meet for Commission acceptance of accreditation for testing pursuant to 16 CFR part 1420 Requirements for All Terrain Vehicles. | |
