| Title: ●Third Party Accreditation for Testing of Toys | |
| Abstract: Section 102 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110-314, 122 Stat. 3016 (August 14, 2008), mandates that third party testing be conducted for certain childrens products. Section 102 also directs the Commission to publish a notice of requirements for accreditation of third party conformity assessment bodies (laboratories) to assess conformity with such childrens product safety rules. The Commission will initiate a rulemaking to establish the requirements that third party conformity assessment bodies must meet for Commission acceptance of accreditation for testing according to ASTM F963, Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety. | |
