Title: Petition Requesting Ban for Supplemental Mattresses for Play Yards With Non-Rigid Sides 
Abstract:

The Commission received a petition requesting that the Commission initiate rulemaking under section 8 of the CPSA to ban supplemental mattresses for play yards with non-rigid sides, which are currently marketed to be used with non-full-size cribs, play yards, portable cribs, and play pens. On August 4, 2015, the Commission voted (5-0) to approve publication of a notice in the Federal Register, as drafted, for public comment on the petition. Staff will prepare a briefing package for Commission consideration.
