|
Abstract:
This proceeding addresses the problem of ensuring equal access to the national telecommunications network by people with hearing loss. It implements the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act. This proceeding seeks to expand the scope of the wireline hearing aid compatibility rules, add a volume control requirement for wireless handsets, address technical standards, and streamline the standards process. Costs and benefits of the proposed rule will be evaluated in the next action. |
