Abstract:

On August 4, 2025, the Federal Communications Commission adopts a Direct Final Rule to eliminate certain outdated, obsolete, and unnecessary rules (90 FR 36396).  Relatedly, on August 4, 2025, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a Final Rule that modifies its delegation of authority rules to provide clarity and uniformity regarding the use of delegated authority to adopt rule changes that are exempt from prior notice and comment under the Administrative Procedure Act (90 FR 36383).  Subsequent additional Orders focused on eliminating certain outdated, obsolete, and unnecessary rules include 90 FR 38406, 90 FR 40536, 90 FR 41518, and 90 FR 42137.
