Abstract:

The Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015 (section 701 of Pub. L. 114-74; 28 U.S.C. 2461 note) amended the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990 (Pub. L. No. 101-410; 28 U.S.C. 2461 note). The 2015 Act requires agencies to annually adjust the level of civil monetary penalties for inflation, including publishing a notice in the Federal Register.
