Abstract:
On August 22, 2022, the Commission initiated an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) under section 18 of the FTC Act to explore a variety of data and privacy related questions. 87 FR 51273 (Aug. 22, 2022). The Commission sought public comment on whether new rules are needed. On September 8, 2022, the Commission hosted a public forum regarding its ANPRM. The public forum included panel discussions and members of the public provided remarks. The ANPRM’s extended public comment period closed on November 21, 2022. 87 FR 63738 (Oct. 20, 2022). |
