Title: ● Appraisal Subcommittee's Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Regulations
Abstract:

The Appraisal Subcommittee of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (ASC) is developing a proposal that would revise its regulations implementing the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). These proposed revisions would ensure consistency with applicable law and policies that were enacted since the ASC has amended its Privacy Act and FOIA regulations such as the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016. The proposed revisions would also update the ASC’s regulations to reflect changes in the agency’s current organizational structure and best practices. Additionally, the proposed revisions would correct or remove obsolete information. Lastly, the proposed revisions would align the ASC’s regulations with those of other Federal agencies, thus promoting uniformity across the Federal government and lessening the regulatory burden.
