This RIN previously identified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB)'s plan to (1) add a new subpart to 49 CFR part 801 that would govern the handling of sensitive security information that the NTSB may obtain in connection with an accident investigation or other function of the Board; and (2) make minor edits to all of part 801. These plans are now addressed in other RINs. The NTSB plans to issue a separate Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for its sensitive security information regulations, which will be proposed as subpart H to part 801. This NPRM, and all future activities with the NTSB's planned sensitive security information regulations, are identified in RIN 3147-AA17.

The NTSB plans to consolidate technical, nonsubstantive edits to parts 801, 802, 806, and 807 of 49 CFR, chapter VIII, in one NPRM. The NPRM is identified in RIN 3147-AA06, and this RIN (AA14) and several other RINs (AA07, AA10) have been merged into 3147-AA06. See 3147-AA06 for all future activities related to the minor edits to part 801, 802, 806, and 807.
