Title: Advance Notification to Native American Tribes of Transportation of Certain Types of Nuclear Waste [NRC-1999-0005] 
Abstract: The advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) invited early input from affected parties and the public on the issues associated with the advance notification of Indian Tribes of spent fuel shipments. NRC's current regulations do not address notification of Indian Tribes. A rulemaking plan was approved by the Commission on February 20, 2001. This rulemaking was put on hold by the Commission pending review of NRC rules in response to events of September 11, 2001. The rulemaking effort has started and is no longer on hold.
